Uriel Casas has 20 years of experience in the fitness industry. He is also an accomplished martial artist. He has been training in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the past 13 years. He currently operates Ascend Institute of Martial Arts, in Chevy Chase MD.

 

On November 20th, 2015 Uriel’s undocumented immigrant story was published by the Washington Post and Huffington Post. Since then Uriel has been featured in Wired Magazine, he has been an undocumented immigrant living in America for 30 years. He is regularly invited by Montgomery County Public Schools and Prince Georgia Public Schools to speak about entrepreneurship and immigration.

Uriel holds an MBA from the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business. As well as a Bachelor’s of Science from UMD. He is also heavily involved in volunteering with his church’s youth group. He offers free women’s self-defense seminars in his community on a monthly basis. Uriel is passionate about empowering others and helping people pursue their goals and dreams.
